Unified Improvement Plan (UIP)


Major Improvement Strategy- West Woods staff will agree on what systemic structures, instructional best practices, and essential standards are being used in reading blocks in K-5 classrooms based on the data collected in 2017/18. 

Action Steps: 
1. Complete Essential Learning Targets Chart for each unit in reading.
2. Update our knowledge on current structures and best practices of reading. Agree on systemic structures that are essential for K-5.
4. Develop an MTSS process using PLC and data team structures already in place to thoroughly look at student data and determine targeted interventions for individual students.

Academic Achievement and Growth Targets - 
All students will demonstrate high growth in Reading including students on READ plans.

Student growth in reading will be measured with the following goals and assessments.
Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades will use the Dibels beginning of the year measure to the Dibels end of year measure. Students scoring at or above grade level in grades K-2 will increase from 82%-88%.

3rd, 4th and 5th grades will use the MAP Reading assessment measuring growth from Fall to Spring. Students scoring avg, avg-high, and high will increase for the following grades:
3rd grade: 80%-85% 
4th grade: 88%-94%
5th grade: 89%-93%
