Unified Improvement Plan (UIP)


Major Improvement Strategy- West Woods staff will gather and analyze data on what systemic structures, instructional best practices, and essential standards are being used in reading blocks in K-6 classrooms. We will then agree on the structures and best practices to be used systemically in our reading blocks moving forward.

Action Steps:
1. Align essential reading standards K-6. 
2. Create and Essential Learning Targets Chart for each unit in reading.
3. Collect data on what structures and instructional best practices are being used in a reading blocks in grades K-6.
4. Develop an MTSS process using PLC and data team structures already in place to thoroughly look at student data and determine targeted interventions for individual students.

Academic Achievement and Growth Targets - 
READ Plans - All students on a READ plan will demonstrate high growth. We define high growth as 1.5 times each student's projected growth measured by Fall to Spring MAP ELA scores.

Grade Level PARCC Achievement and Growth for English Language Arts (ELA)
3rd grade: students scoring proficient and exceeds will increase from 69%-73%
4th grade: student growth will be 50 or above
5th grade: student growth will increase from 46-50
6th grade: student growth will increase from 37-65
